Unsatisfied !!!

Was sent a re-box from Best Buy
What can I say, there were several labels on the box indicating that this PJ was once sent to Best Buy, and for whatever reason, sent back to Optoma, then sent to Amazon. The box looked to be properly sealed with security tape from Optoma. The box wasn't damaged, but inside, the two egg crate ends were cracked. The UHD50 is very loosely packaged inside it's box, has lots of room to jostle around.Anyway, about the reason I returned it: The on-screen menus would show a fuzzy, double text with a 4K 60Hz input signal. I have heard that this is a problem with something inside called an actuator. At 4K 24Hz, the menus were very sharp. I thought maybe I could live with this issue if it was the only thing, but...The 2 HDMI inputs: only one is HDCP 2.2 complaint. I need two.The S/PDIF output is only 2 channel audio. I wanted to send a ROKU streaming stick plus audio back to my HT receiver through optical output, but I'd only get 2 channel audio. Also, many times during my trying to like this unit, it would try searching and connecting to the sources I had connected. I tried several full speed, 18Gbps cables, 3 feet, 6 feet, made no difference.I thought I would update the firmware as maybe that would help. Optoma does not easily support firmware updates through USB as some of the other companies do.Summary, did not want to take another chance on the UHD50. I'm going to spend a few more bucks and pick up the Benq HT3550. Longer warranty by 2 years, USB upgradeable.

Wish there was more
Pretty disappointed with this one. Despite all the positive reviews, I was left disappointed. I own an Optoma 143x and loved it, so I wanted to stay with optoma and upgrade to one of their 4K projectors. This one came in excellent packaging and I was extremely happy to set it up, but when I did, the picture wasn’t as clear and the focus sweet spot was so small that it couldn’t even compare to my current 143x model.I had to return this product for another. I couldn’t justify paying this amount for something that my 143c would do a better performance.

Nice 4K display
Works really well with the new Apple TV 4K. Picture quality is really good in a fairly dark room.
